UEGR Trouser Belt - Reviewed by Yosser

Now you may not have heard of SAG which stands for aptly – Stay Alive Gear, a tactical kit manufacturer based in Poland but I’m sure these guys will be making more of an impact on scene as time goes by. The company’s philosophy is about helping the troops on the ground with reliable kit which won’t fail them and will help see another day. Currently the range isn’t huge but they have most of the bases covered on their website http://sagear.eu/ like Vests, bags, slings, pouches etc. and I’m sure the range will grow.

Now we are all used to the normal tactical gear reviews and uniforms but often over looked is a little item which can make quite a difference to comfort as well as holding your trousers up! Of course it’s your belt!

These UEGR (Uproszczony i Ekonomiczny do Granic Rozsądku) belts come in a variety of sizes S/M/L/XL as well as in Black or Olive Green colours. The central buckle is easy to operate and just clips together and is made of a durable Duraflex or ITW Nexus buckle for durability and consistency. The belt itself is made of cotton with a nice width of 40mm which fits most belt loops and minimises abrasions which I have had from stiffer belts when worn tightly. Each belt is double stitched at the end to help prevent fraying so if you decide to cut-off any excess then remember to heat seal and double stitch the end again!

The belt does curl over slightly but nothing I wouldn’t expect and in fact is welcome to stop the previously mentioned abrasion otherwise. The quick release buckles allows a quick swap of the belt on to other trousers as required and as one of the buckles can be removed no fiddly fitting of buckles under trouser loops!

SAG also sent over some KDS universal single mag pouches made from 1000D Cordura which are made to the same high standards as their belts and these have a cord for retention adjustment. The sides are also adjustable with the cords passing through so most magazines will fit this pouch from AK’s, M4, M14 or SiG’s. So if you’re after a ‘universal’ load out vest these might be an option to consider and the pouches are compatible with MOLLE/PALS with the back straps being fully removable. The same goes for the GSM SLK pouch which is deep enough for a mobile phone and fits the large Galaxy S3, nice touch that when you open the flap and pull the tag it helps bring the device out of the pouch!

Yosser says: Now I found the way the belt was constructed did help with the comfort in wear and unlike my original BDU belt didn’t cut into my sides due to stiffness of the material. It can hold a belt mounted holster but you may wish for something a little more ridged but most of us now mount our pistols on our vests (don’t we?). Good kit at a good price, keep watching this kit as I'm sure they have more great things to come.

Its simple effective, affordable and they do great service and turn around when you order from their website.
